Voiced by Yousra, KIV Intern

An intern from Belgium
I am currently interning at Kids International Village. The staff is incredible, and Haru, our supervisor, guides me every step of the way. This internship allows me to step out of my comfort zone and acquire new skills such as teaching languages to children, management work, interpersonal relations, and event planning. I'm having wonderful times with the children, chatting with them, and engaging in various activities. Whether it's discussing their interests, sharing funny anecdotes, or participating in games and creative projects, each interaction is enriching and memorable. I am incredibly grateful and happy to be an intern at KIV. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the team and especially to Haru for this wonderful opportunity.

About KIV

Open-air English international exchange for kids!
Our organization was established on November 22, 2017 to provide kids an opportunity to meet and speak with foreigners across the globe right in the heart of Tokyo.
Our mission is to provide opportunities to children to "know about diversity"
through interactions with people from other countries.

We contribute to the growth of children who have the capacity to respect others as well as "speak with courage".
We create a community that promotes social contribution where children can easily enjoy communicating with multinational people and speaking English or many other languages with a small amount of money.

It was a lot of fun and a great experience. The chance to work with people from all over the world was very special. Despite the hot weather, I enjoyed the interaction with everyone there and the kids as well. Hope for more of this kind of chance. Highly recommend it to others who are interested in interacting with young kids.

Leroy from U.S ★★★★★

Laurent from France ★★★★★

We've created great memories with Haru-san, the international friends, and -most importantly- the kids. The icebreakers, games, and friendly chat were great! A must-have experience if you want to share culture and joy with kids and make some friends along the way!

Helene from U.S ★★★★★

It was a really fun experience to interact with the children while also helping them practice English. The best part that I didn't expect is making friends with the other international participants. A few of them went to karaoke with me and my friend afterward, which was a blast. Definitely a great way to make friends.

Kelly from U.S ★★★★★

Super fun activity with super cute kids! Had a great time talking with the kids in English and meeting other international friends. The team members were very prepared with snacks and activities. The experience is a little long at 4-5 hours, but if you're looking for a way to interact with Japanese people and meet new people from around the world , this is the perfect way to do so. Wish we could do it again!

Maria from U.K ★★★★★

What a perfect holiday experience! We did this as a family with our 10 year old son as we wanted to have a real cultural connection on our holiday. This did not disappoint and we had a great time playing games and singing with little kids who are so eager to learn English. Well run and well worth the effort.

Lynda from Portugal ★★★★★

This is a must do if you have time in Tokyo. The kids were all so sweet but some a little shy until they warmed up to us. It happened to be just before Halloween so they came dressed in their costumes. We started with introducing ourselves to the children and what country we were from. Then we played a game called mingle, mingle, mingle where they played music and when it stopped everyone had to get in groups by the number called and say “Hi, my name is”. We had some open time to sit and read stories to the children. I was really surprised by the 3 year old I was with how she knew her colors, numbers and animals in the book. I also found out she loved the cartoon Peppa Pig 😄 If you love children (grandchildren) this is a very fun afternoon and you will not be disappointed.

KIV's mission is a fantastic!

I now know what KIV is all about. KIV's mission is a fantastic one. Playing outside is such a huge thing. Especially in these days of smartphones, sns, video games, etc.
English learning in Japan is largely based on financial ability but you are trying to break down that barrier.
At KIV, It is not business, it's about kids being kids and playing.

Donation

At KIV, children are exposed to international exchanges and different cultures from an early age, and through opportunities to communicate with many foreigners, we are doing our best to create opportunities to understand different cultures and to "speak" with courage.

Our goal is not only for Japanese children, but to provide exchanges opportunities to understand different cultures around the world.

In that case, event holding fees (park usage fee, game tool / production cost, sweets and drinks, etc.), software fee, accounting, operation, customer management, advertising expenses, etc. are costly.
In addition, we will implement language learning support programs for children from economically-challenged families, language exchange programs with local foreigners, cross-cultural understanding, and multicultural coexistence programs for elementary school students after school. This is our vision and we need support from all over the world.

If you are interested in participating in the fundraising, kindly donate on the donation form or contact us. Your support goes a long way toward helping children connect with people around the world and broaden their horizons in the future.
